Libu Manjakkal

Libu Manjakkal was born in Peringave, Kerala, India on 02-12-1985. He received B.Sc. in Physics from Calicut University, India in 2006, M.Sc. in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India in 2008 and Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering with honors from Institute of Electron Technology (ITE), Warsaw, Poland, in 2015. His Ph.D. thesis was related to metal oxide based thick film pH sensors. In the period 2009-2012, he worked in Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) in Thrissur, Kerala, India and was involved in the projects entitled “Development of Piezoelectric Based Bimorph Mirror” and “The development of Transparent Conducting Oxide (TCO) thin films through solution processes for electronics and solar cells applications”. Then, during 3 months in 2012 he had an opportunity to realize at New University of Lisbon, Portugal research work in the area of fabrication of low temperature solution processed thin film transistors. From August 2012 to July 2015 he was employed in the ITE, Krakow, Poland as an Early Stage Researcher of a FP-7 project, SENSEIVER in Marie Curie Initial Training Network program. From August, 2015-May 2016 he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the same Institute. Currently he is working as a Marie Curie experienced researcher in the CONTEST project at Bendable Electronics and Sensing Technologies (BEST) group, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, U.K. In this project, my aim is to develop metal oxide based nanostructured flexible sensors for wearable applications. His current research interests comprise new flexible and printable electronics for electrochemical sensors, synthesis of metal oxide nanostructured materials, electroceramic processing, LTCC technology, multilayer actuators, TCO films, pH sensors and gas sensors. He is a member of international microelectronics assembly and packaging society (IMAPS) Poland chapter. He is an author or coauthor of 26 scientific papers.Hisachievements in Marie Curie project were appreciated in 2014 by the jury of Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions prize contest-2014 by including him in the shortlist in the category of “Promising Research Talent”. Additionally, in this MSCA program, he was considered as a fellow of the week on MSCA FB (Facebook).
